In this World Flutes Show that I offered in a grade school in Xi'An, China we set up outside in the playground. I laid out my flutes on a small table that I shared with the blackboard.

She had many flutes to choose from: Irish flute, Chinese ocarina, Native American flutes, Middle Eastern / Mediterranean double reed flute, Bansuri, Tin Whistles. She chose a JAPANESE "peace flute".

I played a song on the flute, talked about the construction material (bamboo), and mentioned that flutes, and music in general is great way to bring people together from different cultures and countries. It can heal hurts and develop respect, understanding, and an easy appreciation of differences.

We had time for more than 10 kids to choose different flutes from around the world instruments which I played for them. They asked all kinds of different questions about where I got the different flutes, what they were made of, where they were from, what the different songs were about, how I learned to play, etc.
